What happens when an architect and a lawyer decide to “re-invent the opal”? A determination to do something different with Australian jewellery, and in particular with coloured gemstones, led two Australians returning home in 2004 after more than a decade living abroad to found venerari. What began as a passion for opal and a reaction against the paucity of genuinely modern design became something so much bigger and eventually an Australian jewellery sensation – with a fresh approach, a return to handmade craftsmanship and a focus on bespoke design to deliver customer satisfaction.
