The Good Eggs

Since we opened the shop, we have forever being hunting for the perfect egg. Our jewellery, especially our necklaces, are simple, sometimes quite subtle, and would be lost on a flocked velvet bust. As we never do anything the way normal jewellers do this, we decided we needed something different to hang our pieces on.

Our eggs for hanging jewellery on

Our obsession with the egg commenced when we opened in 2004 with simple cream ceramic eggs, which had a raw cut finish, but the roughness scratched the back of the pendants. Finally last year, we stumbled across Michael Stephenson at the Eveleigh Artisans monthly market.

Our jewellery egg in our cases

Michael, a sometimes-disenchanted architect, turns beautiful pieces, and spent a large part of a six-month period absorbed with making us the perfect eggs for our showcases. These were eventually joined by dishes, platforms, and other timber oddities
